Description

Diren Mahlep is a unique Turkish wine made from the Mahlep (or Mahaleb) cherry, which is actually a wild cherry species traditionally used as a spice in Turkish cuisine rather than for winemaking. Here are the typical tasting notes for Diren Mahlep:

Appearance: Bright, deep garnet red.
Aroma: Intense and aromatic, with distinct notes of sour cherry, wild cherry, and cranberry. There’s also a noticeable almond-like spiciness, often accompanied by floral hints and subtle earthiness.
Palate: Light to medium-bodied with a refreshing acidity. Flavors are driven by tart red fruits, such as cherry and pomegranate, with a touch of herbal spiciness and a unique almond-like bitterness that adds complexity. Soft tannins give it a smooth, light mouthfeel.
Finish: Clean, with a tart cherry and almond aftertaste that lingers, leaving a refreshing, slightly bitter edge.

Diren Mahlep pairs well with dishes featuring game meats, duck, or lamb. It also complements Mediterranean mezze, especially dishes with earthy, nutty, or mildly spiced flavors.

Our deliveries are made by third party carriers. Some standard deliveries do not require a signature. If you are out, the delivery driver may be able to leave your order for you in accordance with the instructions that you gave us when you placed your order, for example, in a safe place or to a neighbouring address and if this is not possible, a card will be posted through your letterbox with instructions on how to arrange re-delivery. You should keep your delivery note and all packaging and should notify us immediately if any of the order is missing or damaged. If you do not receive your parcel you are required to notify non-delivery within 14 days in order for VinoTurco (EUR LTD) to action any investigation for missing or damaged stock.
